A Special Limited Edition V90: Only 15 Units for Japan

Volvo Car Japan announced on Thursday, April 19th, that the crossoverV90"V90" will be released as a special limited edition, the "Cross Country Ocean Race Edition," with only 15 units available. It will be sold exclusively at "Volvo Studio Aoyama," which opened last October.

Exclusive Features Inspired by the Volvo Ocean Race

Volvo supports the "Volvo Ocean Race," one of the world's three major yacht races. This approximately eight-month-long competition covers 69,000 kilometers, from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere, making it one of the most grueling round-the-world yacht races.

A limited edition model has been created, featuring exclusive interior and exterior elements inspired by this "Volvo Ocean Race."

The base model is the "V90 Cross Country T6 AWD Summum," equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline turbo engine producing a maximum output of 320 ps and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The special features are inspired by the "Concept XC Coupe," a concept car unveiled in 2014, with bold use of Kaolin Grey and Flare Orange for the interior and exterior colors.

The exterior features a dedicated front grille, emblems, and 5-spoke alloy wheels. Additionally, Kaolin Grey body parts are applied to the lower bumper and side sills, creating a stylish aesthetic. It comes equipped with an electric panoramic glass sunroof and side scuff plates, with a dedicated roof box in the same color as the body also available as an accessory.

The interior offers Flare Orange seatbelts and floor mats, with dedicated carbon fiber panels expressing the world of yacht racing. Other special features include a Bowers & Wilkins premium sound audio system and dedicated USB ports.

A total of 3,000 units will be produced worldwide, with only 15 available in Japan. 100 Euros from each unit sold will be donated to an environmental organization to fund research into marine pollution caused by plastic waste. The price is 9.69 million yen.
