The new "911 GT3 RS" model, based on Porsche's top-tier motorsport model, has been announced. The chassis has been tuned by Porsche's motorsport division. The power unit is a 4-liter horizontally opposed 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, producing a maximum output of 383 kW (520 PS) at 9,000 rpm, an increase of 15 kW (20 PS) over the "911 GT3". It is paired with a 7-speed PDK transmission, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h.
It features a fixed rear spoiler, and its wide body design is based on aerodynamics. The wheels are 20-inch at the front and 21-inch at the rear, with even lighter magnesium wheels available as an option. Furthermore, the optional Weissach package, which incorporates carbon parts in the chassis, interior, and exterior, brings the weight down to 1,430 kg in its lightest configuration.
The interior is equipped with full carbon bucket seats, mirroring the racing specification of the exterior. As with Porsche's current GT sports cars, a Clubsport package is available as a no-cost option. It includes essential equipment for serious circuit driving, such as a rollover bar, a manual fire extinguisher, an adapter for the battery disconnect switch, and a six-point seatbelt.
Pricing and other details are yet to be determined. They will be announced at the Geneva Motor Show, which opens on Tuesday, March 6.
