The "SLS AMG," an original AMG development car featuring gullwing doors inspired by the legendary "300SL," has been minor changed and renamed " SLS AMG GT" at the recent Paris Salon, along with its electric vehicle version, was unveiled. This is still fresh in our memory, but it has been revealed that the "SLS AMG Coupe Black Series," boasting the highest performance as a road car, will be added to the SLS AMG lineup.Electric vehicle version also unveiledwas unveiled at the recent Paris Salon. This is still fresh in our memory, but it has been revealed that the "SLS AMG Coupe Black Series," boasting the highest performance as a road car, will be added to the SLS AMG lineup.
Starting with the "SLK 55 AMG Black Series" in 2006, followed by the "CLK 63 AMG Black Series" (07),
"SL 65 AMG Black Series" (08), andC 63 AMG Coupe Black Series" (11), this is the fifth Black Series model, inheriting its concept and technology from the racing car "SLS AMG GT3."
The naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V8 engine, handcrafted with thorough optimization of the crankshaft and oil pump, produces a maximum output of 464 kW (631 hp) at 7,400 rpm, the highest specification for an AMG model with an internal combustion engine. This is 44 kW (60 hp) more than the SLS AMG and 29 kW (50 hp) more than the SLS AMG GT. The maximum engine speed is 8,000 rpm, compared to the SLS AMG's 7,200 rpm. Maximum torque is 635 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 315 km/h.
Following the "AMG Lightweight Performance" strategy, the vehicle weight has been reduced by 70 kg to 1,550 kg compared to the SLS AMG. The power-to-weight ratio is an impressive 2.45 kg/ps.
Like the SLS AMG GT, it features the "AMG Ride Control Performance Suspension" and the "SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission," a dual-clutch transmission that offers faster response and shift speeds than the SLS AMG.
Furthermore, with ceramic composite brakes, matte black forged lightweight alloy wheels, blacked-out lights, large air intakes, CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) wings, and aprons, the SLS AMG Coupe Black Series already has a more racing-inspired aesthetic than the SLS AMG GT. An optional "AMG Aerodynamics Package" is also available, allowing the rear wing to be replaced with a large, adjustable rear wing similar to that of the "SLS AMG GT3."
The model shown features the exclusive body color "AMG Solar Beam" for the SLS AMG Coupe Black Series. Of course, all six body colors, including "magno alanite grey," are also available, just like the SLS AMG.
The interior is lavishly appointed with Alcantara. Two color schemes are available: the black shown, or black/red with red accents on the door panels, center console, and above the glove compartment. An optional 11-speaker Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG system is available.
Pricing has not yet been announced, but sales are scheduled to begin in June 2013.
