The "See You The Beetle" Campaign: First Edition
With roots tracing back to the "Type I" born in 1941, the Beetle has been cherished by many for years. The current third generation, "The Beetle" debuted in 2012, but it has been announced that sales will end in 2019.
To express its gratitude as sales conclude in Japan in 2019, Volkswagen is launching the "See You The Beetle" campaign. The first offering is the limited edition "The Beetle Sound," featuring the premium "Fender® Sound" system, emphasizing audio quality and enhanced comfort features.
The Beetle Sound, based on the "The Beetle Design" grade, delivers immersive audio with eight speakers, a subwoofer, and a 400W amplifier. It also includes a multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, automatic climate control, and for the first time in The Beetle, a rear-view camera integrated into the rear emblem, enhancing comfort and safety.
Exterior enhancements include "SOUND" badges on the front fenders and exclusive 17-inch wheels. The bi-xenon headlights, previously an optional feature, are now standard.
Inside, the door trims and dash pads, typically body-colored, are specially finished in black. The exclusive seats are also black with red stitching accents, creating a space reminiscent of an equalizer.
Available in White Silver Metallic and Tornado Red, production is limited to 300 units. The price is ¥2.94 million, approximately ¥540,000 higher than the base grade.
