An Interior Designed for Four to Enjoy Open-Air Driving in Comfort
The Mercedes-BenzE-Class CabrioletThe "E-Class Cabriolet" is the fifth generation of the mid-size, two-door open-top model, tracing its lineage back to the "300CE-24 Cabriolet" which debuted in 1991 based on the legendary "W124." Its distinctive features from that era included an electro-hydraulically operated, fully automatic acoustic soft top offering excellent sound insulation and weatherproofing, and a wide field of vision thanks to its frameless windows.
While a two-door open-top model, it has carried forward the characteristic of offering a comfortable interior space for four occupants and safety during open-air driving. The new model incorporates Mercedes-Benz's latest design language for a stylish exterior and a premium interior, along with innovative technologies such as the latest "Intelligent Drive" driver assistance systems, achieving top-tier safety and comfort in its segment.
Based on the "E-Class Coupe," the new Cabriolet presents a flowing, coupe-like silhouette with the soft top closed, embodying Mercedes' traditional elegant styling, while its open form offers the expansive proportions characteristic of a cabriolet.
The acoustic soft top, operable up to 50 km/h and taking approximately 20 seconds to open or close, features a three-layer construction. Each outer layer uses materials excellent in sound insulation and weatherproofing, combined with an inner layer of urethane foam that provides high thermal insulation and sound absorption, resulting in remarkable quietness. It is available in four colors: black, dark red, dark blue, and dark brown.
During open-air driving, the "AIRCAP" system, consisting of a wind deflector above the front windshield and draft-stop elements, directs airflow upward, reducing wind turbulence into the cabin from the rear. Additionally, the "AIRSCARF" system, which blows warm air from the front headrests to the occupants' necks, allows for comfortable open-air driving even in cold weather, regardless of the season.
The cockpit design, featuring two high-definition 12.3-inch wide displays merged under a single glass panel, is inherited from the coupe model. Furthermore, the body has grown larger compared to the previous generation, resulting in a 44mm increase in rear legroom and a 14mm increase in rear shoulder room. Combined with the separate seats designed for genuine comfort, this creates a spacious interior ideal for long drives, exuding a sense of refined luxury. Interior color options include sporty combinations like classic red/black and elegant choices such as macchiato beige/espresso brown.

Powertrain and Environmental Performance Achieved at a High Level
The powertrain for the "E200 Cabriolet" and "E200 Cabriolet Sport" models features a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder direct-injection turbo engine, the third generation of its direct injection system. It delivers a maximum output of 135 kW (184 hp) and a peak torque of 300 Nm, achieving a balance of excellent dynamic performance and high environmental efficiency. The higher-end "E400 4MATIC Cabriolet Sport" is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo direct-injection engine, providing a powerful output of 245 kW (333 hp) and 480 Nm of torque.
As the model name suggests, the "4MATIC" all-weather full-time all-wheel-drive system, adopted for the first time in the E-Class Cabriolet, delivers optimal traction under all weather and road conditions. Complementing this, the multi-chamber air suspension "AIR BODY CONTROL" provides optimal damping force and corrects body posture in various situations, ensuring consistent handling characteristics. All models are equipped with the "9G-TRONIC" 9-speed automatic transmission.
The "Intelligent Drive" suite, which includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC with follow-to-stop and automatic re-acceleration, Active Steering Assist for maintaining distance and assisting with steering, Active Lane Change Assist for automatic lane changes on highways, and Active Emergency Stop Assist which automatically stops the vehicle if the driver is unresponsive, along with the telematics service "Mercedes me connect," are all standard equipment on all models.
Pricing is set at 7.35 million yen for the E200 Cabriolet, 8.04 million yen for the E200 Cabriolet Sport, and 11.13 million yen for the E400 4MATIC Cabriolet Sport (left-hand drive only).
