LS+ Concept with Autonomous Driving Technology Unveiled Globally
Lexus unveiled the LS+ Concept, a concept model of its large sedan, in a world premiere. This model, equipped with autonomous driving technology, indicates the direction Lexus will take in the near future.
The exterior is an updated version of the flagship sedan recently released, theLSLS, featuring an aerodynamically conscious body, a spindle grille integrated with the body, and front and rear light designs that create a sharp, edgy expression.
The autonomous driving system is designed to enable operation on dedicated autonomous roads by 2020, with plans to achieve Level 4 autonomous driving on public roads within the 2020s through further advancements.
In addition, the company exhibited production models such as the flagship coupe,LCLC, and the recently released flagship sedan, the LS. The LS is characterized by its design incorporating Japan's spirit of "omotenashi" (hospitality), featuring elements like Kiriko cut glass door panels and an instrument panel inspired by the koto and chasen whisk.
