Safety Equipment Standard on All Models

The 2018 model of the Jaguar flagship saloon, the XJ, has been announced.

The biggest news for this model is the introduction of the new XJR575 grade. Its 5.0-liter V8 engine has been tuned to produce a maximum output of 575ps and a maximum torque of 700Nm. Jaguar Land Rover claims it is the most powerful XJ in history.

The XJR575 also features differentiated styling with numerous exclusive items. The exterior boasts a gloss black rear spoiler, side sills, and front bumper, complemented by 20-inch gloss black wheels. Body colors can also be chosen from special SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) colors: Velocity Blue and Satin Corris Grey. The interior exudes luxury with soft-grain leather and other premium materials.

The 2018 XJ lineup includes six grades, including the XJR575. The powertrain options have been narrowed down from the previous model's2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo modelto a total of three options: a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged gasoline engine producing 340ps, and two 5.0-liter V8 supercharged gasoline engines tuned to produce either 575ps or 510ps.

Other changes include the standard fitment of the "Protect" communication function within the larger, 10.2-inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system "Touch Pro," enabling smart roadside assistance and SOS emergency calls in critical situations.

Furthermore, safety features such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Driver Condition Monitor are now standard across all grades.

Pricing starts at ¥11,490,000 for the 3.0-liter V6 XJ Luxury, ¥12,530,000 for the XJ Premium Luxury, ¥14,030,000 for the XJ Portfolio, and ¥14,340,000 for the XJ R-Sport. The 5.0-liter V8 XJR575 is priced at ¥18,870,000, and the XJ Autobiography Long Wheelbase at ¥20,690,000.
