Limited to 300 Units: High-Performance Jaguar XE Model Arrives

Jaguar Land Rover unveiled the Jaguar at the "Goodwood Festival of Speed 2017",XE" high-performance model,XE SV Project 8making its world debut. It announced the specifications in detail along with showcasing its 600ps output.

Jaguar's Most Powerful and Most Compact Supercar Ever

The "XE SV Project 8" is the second collector's edition from Jaguar, based on the sports saloon "XE." Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) handled everything from design and engineering to hand assembly, with only 300 units sold worldwide. Jaguar itself proclaims it as "Jaguar's most powerful and most compact supercar ever."

The powertrain is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine that produces a maximum output of 600ps and a maximum torque of 700Nm. The 8-speed automatic transmission can complete shifts in just 0.2 seconds, and in extreme cases, it can skip gears, such as shifting from 8th to 2nd. The top speed is 200 mph (approximately 322 km/h), and it achieves 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds.

In terms of driving dynamics, the "Electronic Active Differential (EAD)" optimizes torque distribution between the left and right rear wheels, while the differential cooler housing within the rear diffuser maintains optimal temperature control of the EAD even during track driving.

The brakes adopt newly developed carbon-ceramic brakes (CCB). The front features 6-piston aluminum calipers with 400mm diameter two-piece discs, and the rear has single-piston calipers with 369mm diameter two-piece discs.

Weight reduction was also a focus for the body. Aluminum and carbon fiber are used, and with the optional 2-seater track pack, the car is 12.2kg lighter.

At the "Goodwood Festival of Speed 2017," Jaguar Land Rover also exhibited other vehicles besides the "XE SV Project 8," including the new Land Rover SUV "Velar" and a camouflaged prototype of the new "XJ" derivative, scheduled for full reveal this summer.

The "XE SV Project 8" is limited to a global production of 300 units. Pricing in the UK starts from £149,995 (approximately 22 million yen).
