Jaguar Announces High-Performance XE Model

Jaguar Land Rover has announced the market launch of the XE SV Project 8, a high-performance collector's edition for the Jaguar XE, its mid-size saloon. Production will be limited to 300 units worldwide.

The "XE SV Project 8," based on the Jaguar XE"XE, was designed, engineered, and assembled entirely by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). This is the second collector's edition, following the Jaguar " F-Type Project 7" F-Type Project 7, announced in 2014.

It is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine, producing a maximum output of 600ps, which Jaguar claims makes it the most powerful road car in Jaguar's history.

Jaguar Land Rover also released images and a video of the "XE SV Project 8" prototype. The video shows it being tested on the Nürburgring North Loop.

Details of the "XE SV Project 8" will be announced on Wednesday, June 28th, UK time, and its first public run is scheduled for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, UK, on Friday, June 30th.
