Polo Gets Special Edition 'Meister'

On April 4 (Tuesday), Volkswagen Group Japan launched the "Polo Meister," a special edition compact car "Polo" equipped as standard with genuine navigation and LED headlights. Sales have begun.

The fifth-generation "Polo" launched in 2009The model, which has been refined for over seven years since its launch, is now available as a special edition named "Meister," meaning "craftsman" or "master," and comes with a variety of equipment.

The grades are the "Polo Comfort Meister," based on the "Polo TSI Comfortline," and the "Polo Highline Meister," based on the "Polo TSI Highline." Both powertrains feature a 1.2-liter turbo engine producing a maximum output of 66 kW (90 ps) and a maximum torque of 160 Nm (16.3 kgm), paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. While the Comfort Meister rides on 15-inch wheels, the Highline Meister uses 16-inch wheels, with equipment differing by grade.

For this special edition, both grades feature Volkswagen's genuine navigation system "716SDCW," a "VTR cable" for connecting iPhones and USB devices, and an ETC 2.0 compatible onboard unit.

The Comfort Meister is equipped with LED headlights with auto height control, a feature available on the Highline, while the Highline Meister gains the new Pepper Grey Metallic as an exterior color option.

The price for the Comfort Meister is 2,449,000 yen, which is 180,000 yen higher than the base model. The Highline Meister is priced at 2,689,000 yen, 100,000 yen higher than its base model.
