Drive a Lexus Vehicle on a Professor-Recommended Route

Professor Ryuichi Sakamoto, releasing his first original album in eight years, “async,” on March 29th (Wednesday). Lexus is planning a multifaceted event to create a “completely new lifestyle experience” through a collaboration with Sakamoto’s music.

The first event is the “LEXUS Listening Drive” experience, held for four days only from Saturday, April 15th to Sunday, April 23rd, inviting 24 groups (48 people). Participants will tour a recommended driving route in Tokyo in a Lexus vehicle driven by a chauffeur, listening to the new album.

To experience the world of the new album, starting from the Watari-um Museum, where the exhibition “Ryuichi Sakamoto | Installation Music Exhibition” curated by Shiro Takatani is being held, you will embark on a roughly one-hour drive to INTERSECT BY LEXUS-TOKYO in Aoyama, aboard one of the following vehicles: LX or RX, NX, or the 5.0-liter V8 engine " GS F. This offers a luxurious lifestyle experience where Sakamoto’s sound, the Lexus engine, and the passing scenery merge into one.

At INTERSECT BY LEXUS-TOKYO in Aoyama, where you can experience Lexus’s worldview, further plans are underway. This includes an experience where you can listen to the new album inside the newly released flagship coupe, the “LC500,” a screening of the trailer for Ryuichi Sakamoto’s documentary film, and panel exhibits.

Additionally, a talk show with Ryuichi Sakamoto and GQ Editor-in-Chief Masafumi Suzuki is planned for invited guests. Driving a car and listening to music is an everyday act. However, this project elevates that experience into a “new lifestyle” achievable only through the collaboration of Lexus and Sakamoto.
