Neri Oxman, Associate Professor at MIT, Invited

This marks Lexus's tenth participation in Salone del Mobile. In 2017, the theme is "YET," one of Lexus's core manufacturing philosophies, signifying the harmonious coexistence of seemingly contradictory elements.

Lexus has consistently partnered with frontrunners in design and architecture. This year, they have invited Neri Oxman, an architect and designer who is also an associate professor at the MIT Media Lab, and her research group, the "Mediated Matter Group." Oxman, known for her design innovations through the harmony of nature and technology, will collaborate with Lexus on the "YET" philosophy, creating a resonant partnership.

At the venue, Oxman and her team will express the "YET" philosophy through delicate yet bold designs, harmonizing elements of light and shadow with cutting-edge technology.

Furthermore, "YET" also serves as the theme for theLexus Design Award 2017, where the 12 winning entries will be showcased through prototypes and panels. Additionally, to commemorate Lexus's tenth year exhibiting at Salone del Mobile, a special exhibit will be presented, allowing visitors to experience the history of Lexus's endeavors.
