Real-time Display of Parking Availability and Gas Prices via Communication
These special edition models are based on theGolfandGolf Variant"TSI Comfortline" and "TSI Highline" trims. They come standard with the genuine infotainment system "Discover Pro," enhanced with the telematics function "Guide & Inform." Volkswagen claims these models "realize a connected car" through communication via smartphones.
By incorporating the telematics function "Guide & Inform," the infotainment system communicates with a dedicated server via communication devices such as smartphones. This not only improves the accuracy of route guidance but also enables online searches using text and voice via the Google search engine.
Furthermore, in addition to data such as VICS traffic information, it is possible to obtain timely information on parking availability around the destination, locations of gas stations, and their prices.
Additionally, these special edition models feature LED taillights and a redesigned 17-inch alloy wheel.
Prices are an increase of 140,000 to 180,000 yen over the base grades. The "Golf TSI Comfort Connect" is priced at 3,060,000 yen, and the "Golf Variant TSI Comfort Connect" at 3,190,000 yen. Meanwhile, the higher-grade "Golf TSI Highline Connect" is 3,469,000 yen, and the "Golf Variant TSI Highline Connect" is 3,599,000 yen.
