New R-Sport Grade Adds a Sporty Aura

The Jaguar flagship saloon, featuring an all-aluminum lightweight monocoque body structure,XJhas been updated to the 2017 model. A key highlight of the latest lineup is the addition of the R-Sport as a new grade, boasting a sporty styling.


The R-Sport is equipped with the same 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine found in the XJ Portfolio and XJ Premium Luxury, producing a maximum output of 340ps and 450Nm of torque. Differentiation from other grades is achieved through exclusive side sills, a rear spoiler, and sports seats in the interior.

Furthermore, an optional "Black Pack" is available, featuring gloss black finishes for the radiator grille surround, lower grille, and side air intakes, exclusive to the R-Sport.

The latest infotainment system, "InControl Touch Pro," featuring a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster and an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen, standard on all grades, can now be optionally enhanced with connectivity features.

Additionally, features such as "InControl Protect," which allows conversation with an operator in emergencies and automatically connects to an SOS emergency call in case of a serious accident like airbag deployment, and "InControl Remote Premium," which enables checking location and trip data, as well as controlling locks, air conditioning, and seat positions via a smartphone app, have been introduced.

In addition, Gallium Silver, Cesium Blue, and Cosmic Black have been added to the exterior color palette, offering a total of 19 variations.

Prices range from 9.97 million yen for the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo "XJ Luxury" to 20.42 million yen for the 5.0-liter V8 supercharged "XJ Autobiography Long Wheelbase." The newly added XJ R-Sport is priced at 14.04 million yen.
