Innovative Frame and Seat Aim to Reduce Driving Fatigue

The "Kinetic Seat Concept" is a seat designed and developed to reduce fatigue from long drives and improve ease of driving. Its unprecedented shape is striking.

First to catch the eye is the movable seat with its orange frame. The seat cushion and backrest move in sync with the occupant's hip movements, replicating the motions of walking or jogging on the seat.

This stabilizes the occupant's gaze by suppressing head movement, even when cornering or driving over uneven surfaces, thereby enhancing comfort. Furthermore, the hip movements provide a moderate stimulus to the body, which is claimed to reduce muscular fatigue during long drives.

The striking spiderweb-like net also contributes to a comfortable seating experience by enveloping the body and dispersing weight. Additionally, the seat's thin profile helps reduce the vehicle's overall weight.

In fact, the back of this spiderweb seat utilizes environmentally friendly, bio-synthesized spider silk fibers, not derived from petroleum. This new material, with protein precursors generated through microbial fermentation, was chosen for its excellent shock absorption properties.

The Paris Motor Show runs until Sunday, October 16. Lexus is also exhibiting the concept car " UX Concept" and the facelifted model of the " IS" and other updated models.
