Developed to Commemorate the Golf GTI's 40th Anniversary

Born in 1976 as a derivative of the Golf, the sporty hatchbackGolf GTI" . To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Volkswagen developed the special limited model "Golf GTI Clubsport" . The "Golf GTI Clubsport Track Edition" is the first in this series.

The powertrain is based on the 2.0-liter turbo engine from theGolf R"Golf R," with a maximum output of 195 kW (265 ps), an increase of 33 kW (45 ps) over the current Golf GTI, and a maximum torque of 350 Nm (35.7 kgm). Furthermore, a boost function is included that allows the engine to generate a maximum output of 213 kW (290 ps) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm for 10 seconds simply by kick-down. The transmission is a 6-speed DSG.

The DSG is equipped with launch control, achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

To match the improved performance, the braking system has also been enhanced. Both front and rear brakes are now ventilated discs, with the discs enlarged to φ340×30mm at the front and φ312×22mm at the rear.

The exterior also features a front bumper and rear diffuser exclusively designed for the Clubsport. It rides on large 19-inch tires. As the name "Track Edition" suggests, the interior is equipped with Recaro sport seats suitable for hard circuit driving, creating a sporty space accented with red.

The body colors are Pure White and Carbon Steel Grey Metallic, both combined with a black roof. A total of 400 units will be sold, 200 of each color, priced at 4,699,000 yen.
