Diesel Models Expand to Five MINI Variants, Ten Total

Newly added are the "MINI 3 Door" and "MINI 5 Door" based on the "Cooper D 3 Door," "Cooper SD 3 Door," "Cooper D 5 Door," and "Cooper SD 5 Door." Also included are the "Cooper D Clubman" and "Cooper SD Clubman" based on the "MINI Clubman" which underwent a full model change last November for the first time in eight years. Combined with the "Countryman" and "Paceman" models, which already feature diesel engines, MINI will now offer a total of ten diesel models across five variants.

The "Cooper D 3 Door" and "Cooper D 5 Door" are equipped with a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine, producing a maximum output of 85 kW (116 hp) at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 270 Nm between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm. The SD models, on the other hand, feature a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine delivering 125 kW (170 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 360 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,750 rpm. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

MINI Cooper SD 3 Door

The Clubman offers two types of 2-liter 4-cylinder engines with different maximum outputs and torque. The D variant produces 110 kW (150 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 330 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm, while the SD variant delivers 140 kW (190 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. Both are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing starts at 3 million yen for the "Cooper D 3 Door," 3.64 million yen for the "Cooper SD 3 Door," 3.18 million yen for the "Cooper D 5 Door," 3.82 million yen for the "Cooper SD 5 Door," 3.64 million yen for the "Cooper D Clubman," and 4.04 million yen for the "Cooper SD Clubman." Deliveries are scheduled to begin in May, with the exception of the "Cooper SD 5 Door," which will commence in September.
