Lexus has added the GS F to its "F" series of high-performance models, designed for enjoyment from daily driving to circuit use. This marks the first sedan F model introduction in eight years, since the birth of the "IS F" in 2007.

The GS F was developed based on theThe New GS Undergoes a Minor ChangeLexus GS, which features a facelifted design. Its powertrain is a 5.0-liter V8 DOHC engine boasting a maximum output of 477 ps. Lexus claims that by meticulously adjusting the rotational balance of each engine after assembly, they have refined the linear feel and responsiveness unique to naturally aspirated engines.

The paired 8-speed automatic transmission, "8-Speed SPDS," is designed with circuit driving in mind. When in M mode, it functions as an 8-speed manual transmission with shifts as quick as 0.1 seconds, delivering a direct driving experience.

The body has been reinforced using advanced techniques such as laser welding, additional spot welding, high-strength glass bonding, and laser screw welding. The suspension features dedicated tuning and is paired with 19-inch large-diameter tires. Furthermore, the brake calipers are powerful front 6-piston and rear 4-piston aluminum opposed units.

Electronic devices to enhance control include the "TVD" (Torque Vectoring Differential), which electronically optimizes the drive force distribution to the rear wheels based on driving conditions, and ABS with vertical acceleration sensors, both as standard equipment.

Sporty Exterior and Interior

The exclusive sporty exterior features widened fenders, a quad exhaust diffuser, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler, all emphasizing its special status. The large spindle grille and air ducts at the front not only enhance the sporty design but also contribute to improved cooling performance. Additionally, a new design has been adopted for the 19-inch wheels.

The interior is designed to evoke the image of a sports car, equipped with exclusive features such as high-back sports seats inspired by the body suits of athletes. The rear seats share a similar design theme with the front seats, creating an aggressive atmosphere that suggests high performance without compromising comfort.

Base Model Also Evolved

Coinciding with the addition of the GS F, the base GS model has also received a minor change. The front fascia and other styling elements have been updated for a more powerful appearance. Functional improvements include the standardization of LED headlights across all models.

Basic performance has also been enhanced through body rigidity improvements and optimized suspension tuning. Furthermore, safety has been bolstered with the adoption of "Lexus Safety System +," an advanced driver assistance system. Pricing ranges from 5,517,000 to 8,463,000 yen for the GS, and 11,000,000 yen for the GS F.
