Lexus Spindle Night Held!
The new Lexus GS, which debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August and arrived in Japan to coincide with the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show, was unveiled at MEGA WEB History Garage in Odaiba, Tokyo.

Embodying Lexus's New Design Philosophy
The 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011 concluded with great success, attracting 840,000 visitors, a 140% increase from the previous year. Many new models, including world and Japan premieres, were exhibited, delighting attendees. Among the highlights was the new Lexus GS, which debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August and has now arrived in Japan.
Prior to the Tokyo Motor Show, an exclusive unveiling event for the new GS was held at the MEGA WEB History Garage in Odaiba, Tokyo, inviting influencers and press from various fields, including sculptor Kohei Nawa and Kabuki actor Shichinosuke Nakamura, as well as VIP Lexus customers.
Titled "Lexus Spindle Night," the event showcased the new grille design adopted for the new GS, embodying the Lexus brand's evolving design philosophy.──As the event name, "Spindle Grille Night," suggests, this gathering served to announce Lexus's evolution into a new phase with the debut of the new GS.
A Wealth of Engaging Content
Upon entering the venue, guests were greeted by the Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package, the brand's world-renowned supercar that set the fastest lap time for a production car at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany, along with other models that drive the brand's sporty image, heightening anticipation for the event.
In the main hall, DJ Toshio Matsuura and VJ Yu Maruno created a luxurious and thrilling atmosphere. Complemented by visually stunning finger foods from Chef Shinji Harada of Italian restaurant Aromafresca and champagne, guests were immersed in the world of Lexus through their senses.
On stage, Executive Officer Kiyotaka Ise presented the new GS, followed by a talk show with Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda and Lexus Ambassador Ryōyo Morita. The event culminated in a surprise secret live performance by Crystal Kay, bringing the venue to a fever pitch.
Further attractions included a simulated driving experience of the new GS on the Nürburgring by top racing drivers Juichi Wakisaka, Takayuki Kinoshita, and Akira Iida, who competed in the Nürburgring 24 Hours race with the Lexus LFA; a mock casino; and an LFA driving simulation on PS3 Gran Turismo. With such a wealth of engaging content allowing guests to experience the world of Lexus, the venue remained filled with guests enjoying an exciting and extraordinary time well past the closing hour of 10 PM.
Lexus has embarked on a new era with the adoption of new design cues. This event only heightened the anticipation for the driving experience of the GS, its latest model.
