The Scirocco, Dressed in Sporty Accents
Volkswagen Group Japan has added the "Scirocco R-Line," a special edition based on the 1.4-liter TSI engine grade of the Scirocco, and commenced sales.

Enhancing the Base Grade with Sportiness
The current Scirocco, revived as the third generation in May 2009, saw the addition of the sport-tuned "Scirocco R" in February 2010. In September of the same year, the "Scirocco TSI" became eligible for eco-car tax reductions, and its price was revised, demonstrating a development strategy tailored to customer needs.
The "Scirocco R-Line," announced this time, is a special edition model based on the 1.4-liter TSI engine model "Scirocco TSI," upgrading it to a dynamic and sporty aesthetic.
It is equipped with exclusive front and rear bumpers, side skirts, newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels, and fabric seats with "R-Line" logos.
Minor Improvements for the "Scirocco TSI"
Concurrent with the announcement of the "Scirocco R-Line," the base grade "Scirocco TSI" also received minor improvements. The multifunction steering wheel, which allows for audio controls and more, now includes paddle shifters.
Sensors located in the rear bumper detect other vehicles and obstacles, warning the driver of their proximity, and this "Rear Park Distance Control" is now standard equipment. Furthermore, the "Adaptive Chassis Control 'DCC' Package (including DCC, electronic differential lock 'XDS', and 18-inch alloy wheels)" for more stable handling and sporty driving, and the "Leather Seat and Panorama Glass Roof Package (including leather seats, power seats, panorama glass roof, and 18-inch alloy wheels)" for a luxurious and open feel, are available as optional packages.
The special edition "Scirocco R-Line" is priced at 3.79 million yen. Despite the addition of the aforementioned equipment, the "Scirocco TSI" is priced at a reasonable 3.50 million yen, a modest 20,000 yen increase from its previous price. The "Adaptive Chassis Control 'DCC' Package" is 241,500 yen, and the "Leather Seat and Panorama Glass Roof Package" is 493,500 yen.
