Balancing Environmental Performance and Power

The "E 350 BlueEfficiency" (Coupe and Cabriolet) announced this time features a new generation V6 engine that utilizes "BlueDirect Technology" for high combustion efficiency, including up to five injections per intake stroke with a reaction speed of one ten-thousandth of a second, thanks to new piezo injectors and a spray-guided combustion system. This technology results in improved performance, with a maximum output of 225kW (306ps) at 6,500rpm (an increase of 25kW/34ps) and a maximum torque of 370Nm at 3,500-5,250rpm (an increase of 20Nm) compared to the previous model.

The transmission is the "7G-TRONIC PLUS," which contributes to improved fuel economy through reduced transmission loss by adopting a newly designed torque converter, hydraulic circuit, and low-viscosity transmission fluid, while also providing dynamic response and quiet, smooth shifts with low noise and vibration.

Thanks to the aforementioned technologies and the new adoption of an idling stop function, fuel economy has improved by up to 47 percent. As a result, it has achieved the "FY2010 Fuel Economy Standard +25%" and "FY2009 Emissions Standard 75% Reduction Level." It also qualifies for eco-car tax reductions (75% reduction in weight tax and acquisition tax) and the Green Tax System incentive (50% reduction in the following year's automobile tax).

In addition to the powertrain, other equipment has also been enhanced. The new generation COMAND system, now standard, can link with Google Maps locations set on a PC and allows browsing of information via internet connection. The audio system has been improved to support various music devices, including Bluetooth audio, playback of music data from USB memory, SD cards, and iPods.

The price is 8.65 million yen for the coupe (left-hand/right-hand steering) and 9.13 million yen for the cabriolet (left-hand steering only).
