The Most Powerful C-Class Coupe Ever Created

Mercedes-Benzhas unveiled the "C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series." It is scheduled for a world premiere at the F1 German Grand Prix held at the Nürburgring on July 23rd and 24th.

Pursuit of Driving Dynamics

The "AMG Black Series" models, introduced within Mercedes-Benz's specialty class, are vehicles that further assert the AMG brand's strength through their high driving performance. Now, the latest model, the "C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series," has been born, featuring dedicated tuning for the C 63 AMG coupe model.

The engine is a 6.3-liter V8. With a maximum output of 380kW (517hp) and peak torque of 520Nm, it is the most powerful C-Class to date. Paired with the AMG Speedshift MCT transmission, which employs a wet multi-plate clutch, it achieves 0-100km/h acceleration in a mere 4.2 seconds.

Furthermore, the addition of an adjustable AMG coil-over sports suspension and an electronically controlled differential lock for the rear differential allows for enhanced driving dynamics.

Sporty Design Incorporating Cutting-Edge Technology

In terms of design, the powerful exterior, which leverages technology cultivated in motorsports, is striking. The front design, described by Mercedes as "arrow-like," features a deeply sculpted aluminum hood, large-diameter front bumper spoiler with cooling vents, a rear spoiler with a diffuser, and a dedicated front grille. The wheels are sporty 10-spoke alloys, and the side view presents a massive impression with its flared fenders. At the rear, a black diffuser reminiscent of the SLS AMG GT3 is fitted, and the black "AMG" badge bears "Black Series" lettering.

The interior is finished in a two-tone theme of black and red. The AMG sports bucket seats, steering wheel made of Nappa leather and "DINAMICA" microfiber, and seatbelts are all in red. This DINAMICA material is touted as a cutting-edge lightweight material and is extensively used not only on the steering wheel but also in the interior trim of the center console and doors.

Release in January 2012, from €115,430

An optional "AMG Track Package" is available for circuit driving. It enhances grip performance with specially developed Dunlop tires and improves cooling with a rear spoiler equipped with a radiator. Additionally, an "AMG Aerodynamics Package" is offered, utilizing carbon fiber in various areas for weight reduction.

The C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series will be released starting January 2012. Prices start from €115,430 (approximately 13 million yen).
