A "Solid" Design, as if Carved
The highlight of the minor change is the exterior modification. The design language of the "SR1," unveiled last year to commemorate the brand's 200th anniversary, has been adopted in the new "308," following its introduction in the "508" which goes on sale in July.
Key features include a "floating grille" that appears to hover, and a more subdued overall design with a refined front hood. Additionally, the LED position lamps are integrated into the fog lamp design.
The rear design of the 5-door hatchback model now features a horizontal chrome line on the tailgate. Furthermore, the rear bumper incorporates diffuser-like styling on both sides of the license plate, with new design elements added throughout.
Equipment has also been enhanced. All models now feature LED position lamps, and two new alloy wheel designs have been added, bringing the total to five types. The 5-door hatchback model is equipped with a sporty rear bumper, and the "CC" model includes bi-xenon directional headlights, among other additions.
There are no changes to the powertrain. All models, except for the entry-level hatchback "Style," are equipped with a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder DOHC engine with a turbocharger, delivering a maximum output of 115kW (156ps) at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 240Nm (24.5kgm) at 1,400-3,500 rpm, achieving ample performance. The wide torque band, available from 1,400 to 3,500 rpm, enables powerful driving that responds precisely to the driver's intentions, from city streets to highway cruising.
Price Reduction of Up to 5.7%
Along with the minor changes, the lineup has been reviewed. A new entry-level model, the "Premium" (3.99 million yen) with fabric seats, has been introduced for the coupe cabriolet "CC." Additionally, prices for some models have been revised, resulting in a maximum price reduction of 5.7%.
The price changes affect the higher-end "Griffe" (integral leather interior) model of the "CC," which is now 200,000 yen cheaper at 4.4 million yen. The premium 5-door hatchback "Cielo" (leather interior) is also reduced by 200,000 yen to 3.29 million yen. The "Premium" (leather interior) station wagon "SW" has been reduced by 60,000 yen to 3.49 million yen.
New body colors, "Egyptian Blue" and "Fiera Blue," have been added, bringing the total to nine colors: "Pearl White," "Bianca White," "Aluminium Grey," "Vapor Grey," "Perla Nera Black," and "Babylon Red."
