Entry-Level Hatchback Maintains Price Despite Expanded Equipment
The "207" series was introduced to Japan in 2007, offering a diverse range of body styles including the hatchback, the "SW" station wagon, and the "CC" coupe cabriolet. Most models, excluding the hatchback "GT," are equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-4 DOHC engine producing a maximum output of 88kW (120ps) at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 160Nm (16.3kgm) at 4,250rpm. Its manageable size has made it a beloved, best-selling model for Peugeot. This update sees added equipment and lineup changes for the 5-door hatchback and "SW" models, with new body colors introduced across all models, including the "CC."
The entry-level 5-door hatchback model, "Style," now features an aluminum-look front grille, fog lamps, and side moldings with chrome strips matching the body color. Inside, it boasts a leather-wrapped steering wheel and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) for safety. Despite these enhancements, the vehicle's base price remains unchanged at 1.99 million yen.
SW Also Welcomes the Entry-Level "Style" Model
The lineup has been streamlined, merging the previously higher-tier "Premium" and "Cielo" models into a single "Cielo" variant, resulting in a three-model structure: "Style," "Cielo," and "GT." The new "Cielo" features a panoramic glass roof and seats upholstered in a combination of fabric and synthetic leather, yet its price has been reduced by 200,000 yen to 2.99 million yen.
The sporty "GT" model, powered by a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbo engine delivering 115kW (156ps) at 6,000rpm and 240Nm (24.5kgm) between 1,400-3,500rpm, now features redesigned wheels. It also includes a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, and its price has been lowered by 60,000 yen to 2.6 million yen.
The "SW" series also introduces an entry-level "Style" model priced at 2.25 million yen. The higher-end "Premium" model sees a price reduction of 90,000 yen to 2.45 million yen, while adding an aluminum-look front grille and a new fabric and synthetic leather seat combination.
Two new colors, "Oasis Blue" and "Morello Black," have been added, bringing the total color options to nine.
