Over 2,000 Changes Made

The current third-generation C-Class, which debuted in 2007 and has achieved over one million cumulative sales, is a highly popular model. This premium compact, known for its blend of agility and comfort, has now evolved further with over 2,000 changes, including a revamped powertrain, safety features, and interior/exterior design.

Regarding the engine, the "C 200" and "C 250" models now feature a 1.8-liter inline-4 direct-injection turbo engine, renowned for its excellent fuel economy and clean emissions, based on the downsizing concept. This is paired with the newly developed "7G-TRONIC PLUS" 7-speed automatic transmission, which incorporates new technologies such as an updated torque converter, hydraulic circuit, and software, contributing to further fuel efficiency improvements. This transmission has been adopted across all models.

Station Wagon

The "C 350 Avantgarde" is equipped with a newly developed 3.5-liter V6 BlueDIRECT engine. This engine utilizes piezo injectors with a high injection pressure of 200 bar and a spray-guided combustion system, performing five injections per intake stroke with a reaction speed of one ten-thousandth of a second to create optimal combustion conditions. In addition to a significant power increase of 75 ps to 306 ps and a 70 Nm boost in torque to 370 Nm compared to the previous model, it achieves excellent fuel economy comparable to smaller displacement models.

The body has also achieved a weight reduction of approximately 10 kg through the adoption of an aluminum bonnet. Furthermore, the sedan boasts an excellent aerodynamic performance with a Cd value (drag coefficient) of 0.26. Through thorough efficiency improvements in every detail, fuel consumption has been reduced by 31 percent compared to the previous model in European specifications. In Japan, both the sedan and station wagon models are now eligible for eco-car tax reductions.

Driver assistance systems now include "ATTENTION ASSIST," which helps prevent accidents caused by driver drowsiness, and "Adaptive Highbeam Assist," which automatically switches between high and low beams, as standard equipment.

Avantgarde Line

The exterior adopts the latest Mercedes design language, giving it a more dynamic and sharp appearance. Newly designed lights and combination lamps extensively use LEDs, creating a stylish and crisp impression.

The interior features a newly designed instrument panel. With interior trim panels extended to the passenger side and a color display in the center of the meters, the cabin has been elevated to an even more premium space. The audio system has also been improved for usability. It supports playback of music data from the latest devices, including Bluetooth audio, USB memory, SD cards, and iPods, incorporating features that enhance the driving experience.
