Fuel Economy of Just 6.8 L/100km, CO2 Emissions at 159g/km

The Porsche, which had its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011,the second hybrid model, the Panamera S Hybrid,has now been decided for introduction to Japan.

The hybrid system uses the same drive unit as theCayenne S Hybrid.It is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine with a supercharger, producing a maximum output of 245 kW (333 hp), assisted by a 34 kW (47 hp) electric motor. The total system output achieves 279 kW (380 hp). The transmission is the 8-speed Tiptronic S, standard on all Cayenne models.

In terms of acceleration, it can reach 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, with a top speed of 270 km/h.

As a hybrid, naturally, environmental performance is a key concern. Currently, only figures for the Panamera equipped with the optional 19-inch wheels specifically designed for it have been released. Measured under the European NEDC combined cycle, the fuel economy is a mere 6.8 L/100km (41.5 mpg), with CO2 emissions recorded at 159g/km. For comparison,the Cayenne S Hybridachieves 8.2 L/100km (34.4 mpg) and 193g/km of CO2 emissions.

The Panamera S Hybridwill begin accepting reservations at all Porsche authorized dealerships nationwide from June 1st. Both left-hand and right-hand drive options will be available, with a price of 14.83 million yen.
