A New Flagship Model Arrives for the Panamera!

PorscheAG has introduced the high-performance "Turbo S" model to its luxurious four-door saloon, the "Panamera."

Powertrain Exceeding the Turbo by 10 Percent

This Turbo "S" is powered by a 4.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, producing 410 kW (550 hp), an increase of 37 kW (50 hp) over the Panamera Turbo's engine. Furthermore, maximum torque has also increased from the Turbo's 700 Nm (71.4 kgm) to 750 Nm (76.5 kgm). When the Sport Chrono Package Turbo, which is standard equipment, is set to Sport mode or Sport Plus mode, or when kickdown is engaged in Normal mode, an overboost function provides up to 800 Nm (81.6 kgm) of torque. This is due to improvements in the turbocharger and engine control, including the adoption of titanium-aluminum alloy turbine wheels. By using titanium-aluminum alloy, the weight of the turbine and compressor wheels is reduced, resulting in decreased inertia and allowing the engine to respond more quickly.

With this powerful unit, performance has also significantly improved. Using the launch control function, 0-100 km/h acceleration takes just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed reaching 306 km/h. Despite this performance increase, fuel efficiency remains on par with the Panamera Turbo, with fuel consumption in the European NEDC combined cycle mode at 11.5 l/100 km (8.7 km/l). When fitted with 19-inch all-season tires from Michelin, specifically optimized for rolling resistance for the Panamera, fuel consumption is 11.3 l/100 km (8.8 km/l). CO2 emissions are also the same at 270 g/km. This can truly be considered an excellent example of "Porsche Intelligent Performance."

Abundant Features to Assist Your Driving

The enhanced equipment is also noteworthy. The Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control system (PDCC) is an active roll stabilization system that anticipates and significantly reduces body roll during cornering, thereby enhancing both agility and comfort. Additionally, the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), in conjunction with an electronically controlled rear differential, variably distributes engine torque to the left and right rear wheels, ensuring optimal traction and improved agility on all road surfaces. The steering system features speed-sensitive Servotronic. The aforementioned Sport Chrono Package Turbo tunes the suspension and power unit, with the Sport Plus mode in particular switching to a sportier setting, while the sports exhaust system delivers a more emotional engine sound.

The exterior is accentuated by 20-inch Turbo II wheels, a widened rear track, and side skirts designed by Porsche Exclusive, all emphasizing its sporty character. The interior comes standard with a two-tone leather interior. A new black/cream combination is available exclusively for the Panamera Turbo S, with an agate grey/cream combination planned for addition in the fall.

We await further details and pricing information.
