Daimler AG will donate 2 million euros (approximately 230 million yen) as initial relief to the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, to be used for disaster relief and aid activities in the Tohoku region. In addition to this, the company is preparing further support, including the provision of supplies to the affected areas.

Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, stated, "The full extent of the disaster in Japan is not yet clear. In times like these, it is important to stand together and support those affected."
