HDi FAP Euro 5 Engine Models Achieve 98g/km CO2 Emissions
The most significant announcement among the new releases is the 2011 model of the "308," which has sold over 900,000 units in more than 100 countries during its three-and-a-half years on the market. This updated model receives a facelift from the current version, featuring design changes to the floating grille, bonnet, and LED bi-xenon headlights. Regarding the interior, as the designers stated, "pursuing high quality," materials of superior quality are used for the seats and trim. Options include a panoramic roof, climate control with individual temperature settings for each seat, and a JBL audio system. The body styles available are hatchback, estate (SW), and convertible (CC).
The engine options include four types of gasoline engines with maximum outputs ranging from 98 to 200 bhp, and four types of diesel engines with maximum outputs from 92 to 163 bhp. Among these, the model equipped with the 1.6-liter HDi FAP Euro 5 engine featuring e-HDi Stop & Start technology produces a maximum output of 112 bhp while achieving CO2 emissions of 98g/km.
Limited Edition 3008 HYbrid4 to be Sold in 300 Units
Also announced is a special edition of the "RCZ" coupe, featuring a matte gray body color, named the "Asphalt" limited edition. Furthermore, the "3008 HYBRID4 Limited Edition," characterized by its pearlescent white body color and two-tone full leather trim, will begin accepting reservations for a limited run of 300 units online after its show debut.
This 3008 HYBRID4 is the world's first diesel hybrid vehicle, combining a 2.0-liter HDi FAP diesel engine with a maximum output of 120kW/163bhp driving the front wheels, and an electric motor with a maximum output of 27kW (37bhp) driving the rear wheels. Peugeot states that a model with a similar powertrain will also be available for the 508 in 2012.
Simultaneously, the new 908, recently unveiled by Peugeot Sport in February, will have its world premiere at the same show. Touted for its overall victory in the Le Mans Cup, the vehicle is equipped with a new V8 HDi FAP engine boasting 550 bhp and is claimed to have been produced under strict technical regulations. Peugeot Sport also announced the unveiling of other concept models.
Last year, during its commemorative 200th anniversary, Peugeot increased its global sales by 16.3 percent, achieving a record-breaking total of approximately 2.142 million units.
In the MPV segment alone, with the 3008 and 5008, Peugeot sold approximately 200,000 units. Attention is now focused on their future strategies.
