Price Reductions Up to ¥1.05 Million

The Boxster, Cayman, and Panamera series are now significantly more affordable compared to their previous models. Prices have been reduced by ¥620,000 for the Boxster, ¥770,000 for the Boxster S, ¥750,000 for the Cayman, ¥930,000 for the Cayman S, and ¥920,000 for the Panamera. The Panamera 4 sees the largest price cut, with a reduction of ¥1.05 million.

With these price revisions, the automatic climate control (optional at ¥114,000) has moved from standard equipment to an optional feature for the Cayman S, Cayman, Boxster S, and Boxster. For the Panamera 4 and Panamera, significant changes include the electric tailgate (optional at ¥116,000), Porsche Dynamic Cornering Lights (optional at ¥116,000), electric roll-up sunblind for rear side windows (optional at ¥85,000), driver memory package (optional at ¥65,000), walnut interior trim (optional at ¥137,000), and heated front seats (optional at ¥77,000) now being optional. However, even with the combined cost of these options totaling ¥596,000, the effective price reduction remains substantial.

Porsche's First Eco-Car Tax Reduction Eligible Model

The highly anticipated Cayenne S Hybrid will be priced at ¥10.98 million, a ¥60,000 increase from the initially planned ¥10.92 million. A debut fair for the Cayenne S Hybrid is scheduled to be held at Porsche dealerships nationwide on March 5th and 6th. As Porsche's first model eligible for eco-car tax reductions, it will be exempt from acquisition tax and weight tax upon new vehicle registration, and its driving performance is also noteworthy.

The Cayenne S Hybrid is equipped with a parallel full-hybrid system featuring a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine with direct injection and a 34 kW (47 ps) electric motor. Through coordinated control of the engine and motor based on the "Porsche Intelligent Performance" program, it achieves both driving dynamics befitting the Porsche name and excellent fuel efficiency. Features such as the auto start/stop function, which automatically shuts off the engine, contribute to its outstanding environmental performance, with a 10-15 mode fuel economy of 14.0 km/l and CO2 emissions of 193 g/km (based on European data).

With the more accessible pricing, the launch of the Cayenne S Hybrid, and rumors of a full model change for the 911 within the year, Porsche's activities in 2011 are certainly worth watching.
