A Boxer Engine Delivering 455 PS
The updated 911 GT3 RSR focuses on a tuned suspension, an improved engine, and enhanced aerodynamics. The engine is a 3,996cc water-cooled, six-cylinder boxer with dry-sump lubrication, featuring a long stroke of 80.4mm bore and 102.7mm stroke. It produces a maximum output of 335 kW (455 PS) at 7,800 rpm, with peak torque of 450 Nm (45.89 kgm) at 9,400 rpm. This represents an increase of 4 kW (5 PS) over the current model, attributed to a new ECU and revisions to the intake and exhaust systems.
The most apparent difference compared to the current model is the front section. The lip spoiler has been reshaped to increase downforce on the front axle. The front wheel rim width has been increased from 11 to 12 inches, enhancing grip and mitigating understeer tendencies.
Furthermore, the position and shape of the rear wing have been revised, and the lid has been redesigned for air ducts. Like the 911 GT3 Cup and GT3 R, this RSR is fitted with LED rear lights, as seen on the latest 911 models.
The transmission is a 6-speed sequential unit, driving the rear wheels with a torque distribution biased towards the rear at 45:65. The suspension features MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear. Braking is handled by 380 mm diameter, single-piece, 6-piston aluminum fixed calipers at the front and 355 mm diameter, single-piece, 4-piston calipers at the rear. The vehicle weighs 1,220 kg.
The 911 GT3 RSR will join the 911 GT3 R and 911 GT3 Cup as the top-tier model in Porsche's motorsport range. It is priced at 410,000 Euros (approximately 45.7 million yen).
