0-100km/h in 6.1 Seconds: The FF Hot Hatch
Following the announcement of the concept model at last year's Detroit Motor Show, the new MINI John Cooper Works has finally been unveiled after a period of silence.
The new MINI JCW is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine featuring TwinPower Turbo technology. Peak output is 170kW (231ps), a 10 percent increase over the previous generation, while maximum torque reaches 320Nm, up 23 percent. Acceleration from 0-100km/h is 6.3 seconds with the manual transmission, 0.2 seconds faster than the predecessor, and 6.1 seconds with the automatic, a significant 0.6-second improvement. Despite the performance gains, fuel efficiency has also been enhanced, with the automatic achieving 5.7ℓ/100km (approximately 17.5km/ℓ), a 20 percent improvement, and CO2 emissions are kept to 133g/km.
The transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Steptronic Sport automatic.
To further enhance the characteristic MINI go-kart feeling and achieve a more racing-inspired drive, the car features a single-joint spring-strut front suspension and a multi-link rear sports suspension. Braking is handled by newly developed Brembo sports brakes, and it comes standard with 17-inch JCW exclusive John Cooper Works Race Spoke lightweight alloy wheels, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and Electric Differential Lock Control (EDLC). Dynamic Damper Control (DDC) is also available as an option.

Exclusive Body Colors Also Available
The exterior is distinguished by exclusive front and rear aprons, large air intakes in place of the fog lights on the standard model, a John Cooper Works rear spoiler, and a sports exhaust with special tailpipes, all emphasizing its most sporty character within the MINI lineup. Standard equipment also includes LED headlights, white turn signals, and "John Cooper Works" badging. The exclusive body color Level Green has been introduced for the MINI JCW.
The interior features exclusive John Cooper Works sports seats with integrated headrests. The steering wheel is also replaced with a John Cooper Works unit featuring multifunction buttons, and shift paddles are added behind the wheel for the 6-speed automatic transmission.
Other standard features include a JCW shift lever, cockpit display, JCW-exclusive design key, stainless steel foot pedals, an anthracite roof liner, and the Driving Excitement Package.
Similar to the standard MINI 3-door, the optional Head-Up Display shows speed, traffic sign recognition, and basic navigation. For the JCW, it uniquely displays shift points in color, which change based on the current gear and driving mode. Of course, a wide range of other MINI-specific interior and exterior options are available, allowing for diverse customization.
