An F Model Following the RC F
Lexus has announced that it will world premiere the new high-performance sedan "GS F," based on the "GS," at the Detroit Motor Show, which opens on January 12th (local time).
The revealed North American specification GS F has a body size of 4,915mm in length, 1,845mm in width, and 1,440mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850mm and a curb weight of 1,830kg.
The engine is the same 2UR-GSE 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 used in the "RC F." It produces a maximum output of 348kW (473ps) at 7,100rpm and a maximum torque of 527Nm (53.7kgm) between 4,800-5,600rpm. It also features a function that switches between the Otto and Atkinson cycles depending on driving conditions to deliver optimal fuel efficiency and power at all times.
The transmission is an 8-speed automatic (8-Speed Sport Direct Shift) that allows for shifts in as little as 0.1 seconds in manual mode.
It is also equipped with the "TVD" (Torque Vectoring Differential) drive control system, inherited from the RC F, which optimizes the drive force to the rear wheels during cornering. The TVD offers three modes: "Standard" for balanced handling, "Slalom" for enhanced steering response, and "Circuit" for stability on high-speed tracks.
The chassis is an enhanced version of the GS's, fitted with specially designed suspension. It is said to improve handling without sacrificing the ride comfort of a four-door sedan.
