As a Chauffeur-Driven Car

While the Mercedes-Benz S-Class offers the enjoyment of driving, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is designed with the premise of being a "chauffeur-driven car." Consequently, the wheelbase, extended by 200 mm compared to the S-Class, is entirely dedicated to creating a comfortable rear-seat environment, as evidenced by the rear knee room, which has been expanded from 166 mm to 325 mm.

The rear seats are positioned further back than the door openings, creating a sense of enclosure and a personal space for passengers. To achieve this, the rear doors are shortened by 22 mm, and the roofline is modified to ensure ample headroom. The triangular windows, which were on the doors of the S-Class, have been moved to the C-pillar.

The interior, crafted with high-quality materials, exudes a modern luxury unified like a hotel lounge. The Exclusive Trim Package, featuring leather and wood, is standard, with most elements, including the stitching on the door panels, meticulously finished by hand.

The Nappa leather front center armrest bears the Maybach crest, and an analog clock by IWC is embedded in the dashboard. The rear seats are equipped with the S-Class's Chauffeur Package as standard, including reclining functions and ottomans. The rear cup holders feature a function for both warming and cooling using Peltier elements.

The Air Balance package, which generates negative ions and fills the cabin with pleasant fragrances, is standard on the S 600 and optional on the S 500 4MATIC. The inclusion of hands-free microphones and speakers to facilitate easy conversation with the front seats is a distinctive feature of such a large, chauffeur-driven car.

The latest intelligent driving assistance and safety features, extensively introduced in the S-Class, are naturally all incorporated. These include PRE-SAFE Brake with pedestrian detection, DISTRONIC PLUS with steering assist, Stop & Go Pilot, BAS Brake Assist PLUS with cross-traffic assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist PLUS, and Night View Assist PLUS.

Further details on the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be reported from the venue.
