In 2013,Tokyo Motor ShowandLA Auto Showatthe "SLS AMG," for which the final version appeared. The interior of its successor, the "Mercedes-AMG GT," has now been revealed.
The interior, finished in a sporty red and black two-tone color scheme, is similar to that of the recentS-ClassandC-Classmodels, but features design elements unique to AMG models throughout. The most striking feature is the large center console that juts out prominently.
Dubbed the "AMG DRIVE UNIT," it evokes the cylinders of a V8 engine, with eight switches arranged in a V-shape. From the top left, there are drive mode select buttons, an engine start/stop button, traction control off button, and damper adjustment buttons. At the top right are buttons for infotainment on/off, various setting adjustments, idling stop on/off, and exhaust sound settings.
The steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara and features large paddle shifters. Circular air vents positioned centrally enhance the cabin's sporty feel.
The Mercedes-AMG GT is scheduled for its world premiere at this autumn's Paris Motor Show. We look forward to further updates.
