Concluding with a Masterpiece
At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2009,SLR McLarenthe AMG supercar "SLS AMG" made a spectacular debut as the de facto successor to the "SLR McLaren." Its styling, reminiscent of Mercedes-Benz's classic "300 SL," and the adoption of gullwing doors generated significant buzz.
In the following year and beyond, various appealing variations were introduced, including the open-top model "SLR McLaren," the further tuned"SLS AMG GT,"the "SLS AMG GT3" for FIA GT3 category racing, and the EV model"SLS AMG Electric Drive."It continuously evolved, captivating and delighting us. Now, the SLS AMG is set to conclude its production, with the "SLS AMG GT Final Edition," a commemorative model marking its finale, having its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The SLS AMG is finally ending production, and the commemorative "SLS AMG GT Final Edition" to mark its finale had its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The SLS AMG GT Final Edition is a model developed based on the SLS AMG GT.
The first thing that catches the eye on the exterior is the dedicated aero parts. The front splitter on the hood and front apron, and the fixed rear spoiler are all made of carbon fiber. Their contrasting style gives it a more aggressive impression.
These parts also contribute significantly to improving the Cd value by reducing lift acting on the front and rear axles, making them practical elements. The cross-spoke aluminum wheels, with a design distinct from the GT, also enhance the sporty atmosphere by refining the stance.

Interior Finished in Black & Silver
The interior, primarily black, luxuriously uses nappa leather with diamond stitching. The stitching on the leather and the seatbelts are matched in silver, and even the floor mats have silver leather trim, creating an elegant coordination of black and silver.
The carbon fiber console features a "FINAL EDITION" plate, signifying its special status. For a more comfortable touring experience, the "Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG sound system" is standard equipment.
The Last 350 Units
The power unit is carried over from the GT. The 6.3-liter V8 DOHC engine produces a maximum output of 435 kW (591 ps) at 6,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 Nm at 4,750 rpm. It achieves 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h (with limiter), figures befitting a top AMG model.
The AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed transmission, also found in the GT, features four shift modes, a race start function, and an automatic rev-matching function. It's an excellent transmission that can bring out the engine's full potential in a wide range of situations, from city driving to circuit racing. Using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel allows for manual operation.
With the production of this final model, the SLS AMG will close its chapter. The total production of the Final Edition is limited to 350 units, with 20 coupes and 5 cabriolets allocated to Japan. As a model that truly embodies the SLS AMG's grand finale, it's a car that fans should definitely aim to own.
