The Thrill of the Track, for the Road
Lamborghini's newly announced "Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse" is said to be the most extreme model in the Gallardo lineup. It is based on the "Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo" used in the one-make race,Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo"Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo."
The name "Squadra Corse" translates directly to "Racing Team." This name reportedly comes from a department recently established within Automobili Lamborghini to manage all of Lamborghini's racing activities.
This "Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse" features the same V10 engine, rear wing, and easily removable engine cover as the "Super Trofeo."
Its maximum output is 570 horsepower, as indicated by the "570" in the model name, achieved at 8,000 rpm. The transmission is a 6-speed semi-automatic "e-gear," and as the "-4" suggests, it is a four-wheel-drive model.
At 1,340 kg, it is approximately 70 kg lighter than the current basic Gallardo, the "Gallardo LP560-4." It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 10.4 seconds, with a top speed set at 320 km/h.
The body is adorned with green, white, and red stripes, mirroring the Italian flag, along the sides. The available colors are yellow, white, gray, or red. These contrast with the matte black wing, high-gloss black engine hood, air intakes, rear diffuser, and 19-inch wheels.
The brake calipers are available in red, black, or yellow.
Lamborghini has previously released special street-legal Gallardos comparable to the "Super Trofeo," bearing the "LP 570-4" designation, such as theEdizione Tecnica" and theSuper Trofeo Stradale". Given that the Gallardo model itself is nearing the end of its lifecycle, the "Squadra Corse" is highly likely to be the final, highest-performing street-legal Gallardo.
