A Supercharged RCZ Boasting 270ps

RCZ R to Compete at Goodwood

With a maximum output of 199kW (270ps), 0-100km/h acceleration in under 6 seconds, and CO2 emissions of just 145g/km, the "RCZ R," a supercharged road car leveraging know-how from the competition vehicle "RCZ Peugeot Sport" developed by motorsport division Peugeot Sport, will appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Production Model Unveiled Ahead of Launch

Peugeot's 1.6-liter engine paired with a twin-scroll turbocharger,Paris Motor Showwas exhibited atConcept ModelThe Peugeot "RCZ R," delivering a maximum output of 270ps, 10ps higher than the concept model, will be unveiled ahead of its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with a preview at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Sales are scheduled to begin in early 2014. With an output of 170ps per liter, this engine is among the world's best. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. Top speed is limited to 250km/h.

The weight has been reduced by 17kg from the 200ps model of the standard "RCZ" to 1,280kg, achieving a power-to-weight ratio of 4.7kg/ps.

The most striking exterior feature of the "RCZ R" is the large rear spoiler, which has been changed from the movable type on the standard model to a fixed one to increase downforce. Also notable is the distinctive roof arch painted in matte black.

The two-tone 19-inch wheels, bearing the letter R, are designed to cool the red brake calipers inscribed with "Peugeot Sport."

Furthermore, the tailpipes, redesigned for improved performance, now exit as a dual setup and are finished in chrome. Incidentally, this revision seems to have made the exhaust note entering the cabin more stimulating.

At the front, the headlamps are blacked out in matte black, and the Peugeot lettering on the grille has been changed to red. An "R" badge has also been added to the side of the grille.

The interior is predominantly black with red stitching. The seats, featuring a plate with an embossed "R" logo, are upholstered in Nappa leather and Alcantara. A plate with an "R" logo, secured by four screws, is mounted on the center console.
