Adopts a New Platform

The new 308 utilizes the "EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2)," a new platform from PSA that is also used in the new CitroënC4 Picasso"C4 Picasso."

Thanks to this platform, the car maintains its compact dimensions of 4.25 meters in length and 1.46 meters in height, while achieving a weight reduction of 140 kg compared to the previous generation. Furthermore, it boasts a trunk capacity of up to 470 liters.

The exterior and interior design follows the direction set by the earlier announced "208" model.

The slimmer, sharper front headlights feature full LED lighting, which Peugeot claims is a world-first in its class for standard equipment on higher trims. The rear combination lamps also use LEDs, accentuating three claw-like marks, inspired by a lion's claws.

The interior also adopts a smaller steering wheel and a head-up instrument panel that minimizes eye movement, inherited from the 208. The clean dashboard design incorporates a 9.7-inch display, through which functions such as air conditioning and audio are controlled. Consequently, physical buttons are kept to a minimum, with only a few, including the audio volume control, present.

While details regarding the powertrain have not yet been released, it is said to offer high environmental performance, with CO2 emissions as low as under 85g/km.

This new 308 will debut at theFrankfurt Motor Showin September, with sales in Europe scheduled to begin this autumn.
