Jaguar's Lightweight Sports Car, Complete

A rear-wheel-drive two-seater sports car with a robust yet lightweight aluminum body, quick handling, a cockpit designed as a pure driver's machine inspired by fighter jets, and features like a retractable rear spoiler and flush door handles.—The highly anticipated "F-Type," designed to redefine Jaguar's image as a sports car brand for the modern era, has finally had its specifications unveiled.



There are three model variations. The "F-Type" is powered by a new 3.0-liter V6 engine with a supercharger, producing a maximum output of 340ps and 450Nm of torque. The "F-Type S" features a higher-output version of the same engine, delivering 380ps and 460Nm. Topping the range is the "F-Type V8 S," equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates 495ps and 625Nm of torque.



The flagship "F-Type V8 S" boasts a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 300km/h. The "F-Type S" achieves 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 275km/h, while the "F-Type" completes the sprint in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 260km/h. Corresponding CO2 emissions are 259g/km, 213g/km, and 209g/km, respectively.



The transmission is an 8-speed "Quickshift." The shift program dynamically adjusts to driving conditions, and the gear ratios are closely spaced, as befits a sports car.



Additionally, as an option, the two "S" models offer features like a lap timer and G-meter, along with a "Configurable Dynamics" program that allows drivers to adjust steering weight and accelerator response to their preference. The "Active Exhaust System," which activates above 3,000rpm to enhance the exhaust note, is standard equipment (optional on the 340ps F-Type). Furthermore, only the F-Type S is equipped with the "Dynamic Launch" control system.



Emphasizing its excellent handling performance, the F-Type measures 4,470mm in length, 1,923mm (excluding mirrors) in width, and 1,296mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,622mm. The front and rear track widths are 1,585mm and 1,627mm, respectively. Overhangs are minimized, and weight distribution is meticulously optimized, with heavy components concentrated towards the center of the car – so much so that even the windshield washer fluid reservoir has been relocated to the trunk.
