The "Concept Style Coupe," information for which was released ahead of the show, is the compact four-door coupe that has been rumored, and according to Mercedes-Benz, it projects a provocative and powerful image. The unveiled model features a body measuring 4,637mm long, 1,891mm wide, and 1,398mm high, powered by a new turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine. It produces a maximum output of 155kW (211ps) and drives all four wheels via a 7G-DCT, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
A notable feature is the complex movement of the headlights and taillights. While details are best observed in the video below this article, the headlights, already glowing red in standby mode, exhibit a unique radial movement reminiscent of a predator's eyes, and the turn signals flash like piano keys. The 21-inch wheels feature a turbine-like design, with a finediamond patternrepeated, similar to the front grille.
The interior creates a futuristic image with carbon trim, neon green piping on the seats, and air vents whose color changes with the set temperature. This is complemented by white nubuck leather covering the instrument panel, black Alcantara leather, and suede on the steering wheel, adding a signature Mercedes-Benz touch of luxury.
According to Mercedes-Benz, this new four-door coupe is already scheduled for production in 2013. When it arrives on the market, engine variations ranging from 80kW (109ps) to 155kW (211ps) will be available.
