Approximately 90% of Components Refined

The seventh-generation 911, codenamed "991," is a new model that has undergone refinements to approximately 90% of its components, a near-complete overhaul, to fuse seemingly contradictory characteristics: performance and efficiency, sportiness and everyday usability.

The 911 Carrera is equipped with a new 3.4-liter boxer engine, downsized from 3.6 liters. While its maximum output is 257 kW (350 hp), 5 PS higher than the previous generation, its fuel economy on the New European Driving Cycle is 8.2 L/100 km (with PDK), an improvement of 1.6 L/100 km over the previous model. CO2 emissions are recorded at 194 g/km, achieving Porsche's first-ever sub-200 g/km rating for a sports car.

The 3.8-liter engine in the 911 Carrera S, with a maximum output of 294 kW (400 hp), delivers 15 PS more power than the previous model, yet its fuel economy with the PDK transmission is kept to 8.7 L/100 km. This is 1.5 L/100 km less than the previous model's fuel economy (a 14 percent reduction), and CO2 emissions are also an excellent 205 g/km.

Body Shell Uses Approximately 44% Aluminum

The PDK-equipped Carrera S boasts arrow-like acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. With the optional Sport Chrono Package and the Sport Plus button engaged, this time can be reduced to 4.1 seconds. The PDK-equipped Carrera also achieves a respectable 4.6 seconds.

In terms of dimensions, the front track has been widened, further emphasizing the fender lines. The overall height is lower than before, and the wheelbase has been extended by 100 mm. Equipped with 20-inch wheels, this enhances its sporty impression.

Furthermore, the body shell, which incorporates lightweight construction through the use of approximately 44% aluminum, along with a newly developed electric power steering system, redesigned electric side mirrors, and an interior inspired by the Carrera GT, presents numerous technical and visual highlights.
