Based on the Carrera S

Porsche AG has unveiled the limited-edition "Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its legendary sports car, the 911. Production will be limited to 1,963 units, a nod to the year 1963 when the 911 was first introduced.




The base for this special edition is the rear-wheel-drive911 Carrera S, equipped with a 3.8-liter flat-six engine producing 400 hp. A distinctive feature is its adoption of the wide body from the all-wheel-drive911 Carrera 4.



Special equipment includes a specially tuned
sports exhaust system. The 20-inch aluminum wheels are inspired by the "Fuchs wheels" used on the original "901." Chrome fins on the engine compartment grille and a chrome panel between the taillights are also exclusive to this model.




To complement the wider track resulting from the Carrera 4 body, the vehicle is fitted with a specially tuned "Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)" system.




The sports seats, featuring a logo that signifies the 50th-anniversary model, come standard with 14-way adjustment for both the driver and front passenger. An optional 18-way "Sports Seat Plus" is also available.




Body color options include "Graphite Grey," "Kaiser Grey Metallic," and "Black Monochrome." Graphite Grey and Kaiser Grey Metallic are special colors. The interior can be chosen in either "Agate Grey" or "Black."




This Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition will have its world premiere on the opening day of theFrankfurt International Motor Show 2013. Pricing has not yet been announced.
