EV Sports Cars Matching Current Performance and Range

These tests are positioned as initial trials for drive components and battery systems for full EVs. From 2011, the company plans to analyze data obtained from these tests and consider infrastructure development and further advanced testing.

Furthermore, Porsche CEO Michael Macht stated regarding EV development, "We will certainly sell electric sports cars in the future, but they will only be meaningful if their performance and range are equivalent to current sports cars." This indicates Porsche's proactive approach to electric mobility.

Supporting this is the decision to bring the "918 Spyder" to market. Announced at the Geneva Motor Show in March, this new-generation super sports car aims for emissions of 70g/km CO2 and fuel consumption of just 3 liters per 100km, while delivering over 600ps.

In motorsport, Porsche has also unveiled the "911 GT3 R Hybrid," developed for racing. This model features two 60kW (82ps) motors on the front axle assisting the 480ps six-cylinder engine mounted at the rear, and has undergone actual running tests at the Nürburgring.

Porsche is further introducing the "Cayenne S Hybrid," a production hybrid vehicle capable of electric-only driving, to the market. Despite a maximum output of 380ps, it achieves fuel economy of 8.2ℓ/100km (NEDC cycle) and CO2 emissions of 193 g/km. This system is reportedly slated for adoption in the Panamera S Hybrid, scheduled for release next year.
