0-100km/h in 3.4 Seconds, Top Speed of 330km/h

The newly announced 911 GT2 RS is described as "the fastest and most powerful road-going sports car in Porsche's history."

Its 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, featuring specialized tuning for components like its variable geometry turbochargers, delivers an output of 620 horsepower – 90 hp more than the base 911 GT2. This power is channeled through a 6-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h. It even set a blistering Nürburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 18 seconds, over 8 seconds faster than the Nissan GT-R.

Significant weight reduction measures have brought the curb weight down to approximately 1370 kg, 70 kg lighter than the GT2. This reduced weight undoubtedly contributes to the enhanced performance.

The exterior is striking, with parts like the matte-finished carbon fiber front hood. Combined with newly designed front and rear spoilers, and tires measuring 245/35ZR19 at the front and 325/30ZR19 at the rear, the car presents an even more aggressive stance.

The cockpit, finished in red, black, and silver, exudes a highly race-inspired atmosphere, matching the exterior. Lightweight, two-piece carbon bucket seats are fitted, and the shift lever and handbrake are adorned with red Alcantara, showcasing meticulous attention to detail.

The 911 GT2 RS will be released as a limited edition model with only 500 units worldwide, beginning sales in Europe in September. Its price in Germany is announced at €237,578 (approximately ¥28 million).

BRAND HISTORY
Porsche stands as a globally acclaimed sports car brand, earning immense support from skilled drivers worldwide. Its origins trace back to 1931 when Ferdinand Porsche, a brilliant engineer who distinguished himself from his twenties, established the "Porsche Design Studio" in Stuttgart, Germany, after a tenure as technical director at Daimler. He subsequently undertook various vehicle development projects for automobile manufacturers. Among his most famous contributions is the "Volkswagen Beetle," which played a significant role in motorization as Germany's "people's car."

The first car to bear his name as a manufacturer was the "356," introduced in 1948. Since then, Porsche has introduced sports cars like the "911," "924," and "928," while also focusing heavily on motorsport. The company boasts a stellar racing record, including 16 victories at the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans and three series championships as an engine supplier in Formula 1. It goes without saying that their technological prowess and dedication to driving performance continue to live on in their products today.

Currently, the "911," which continues to be highly regarded as a top-tier sports car even 45 years after its debut, is joined by the open-top sports car "Boxster," its coupe counterpart the "Cayman," the premium sports SUV "Cayenne," and the five-door hatchback "Panamera." All of these models enjoy immense popularity.
