0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds, Top Speed 325km/h
The "Ferrari 458 Italia" is a road-going car with a completely new engine, aerodynamics, and handling. It succeeds the current F430 coupe.
The engine is a traditional V8 Berlinetta. It's Ferrari's first mid-ship model with direct injection, producing 570ps at 9000rpm and 55.1kgm of torque at 6000rpm from its 4499cc displacement. With 127ps per liter, it boasts world-class output while improved environmental performance is achieved through direct injection. It achieves 7.3km/L in the European combined cycle and emits 320g/km of CO2.
The transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch, 2-pedal manual "F1-Traction" that extensively uses aluminum. Combined with the powerful engine, it achieves a 0-100km/h acceleration of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 325km/h.
140kg of Downforce at 200km/h
The suspension features double wishbones at the front and multi-links at the rear. By incorporating the electronic differential "E-Diff" and the vehicle stability control system "F1-Trac," it achieves a high level of comfort, quick steering response, and excellent controllability.
The body dimensions are 4527mm long, 1937mm wide, and 1213mm high. Compared to the F430 coupe, it is 15mm longer, 14mm wider, and 1mm lower. The wheelbase is 2650mm, an increase of 50mm from the F430.
Pininfarina designed the styling, with know-how gained from F1 fully integrated into its design. As a result, aerodynamics are greatly improved, generating 140kg of downforce at 200km/h through features like small winglets on the front nose and a flat underfloor.
This "Ferrari 458 Italia." As it's the first public showing of the actual car, it's drawing significant attention from attendees.
BRAND HISTORY
Many fans are captivated by the emblem known as "Cavallino Rampante," or the "prancing horse" in Japan. FERRARI is a car that excites crowds with its fierce performance on the circuit and captivates people with its elegant silhouette and piercing sound on the street. This brand, which pursues the pinnacle of speed in both F1 and road cars, still carries the strong passion of its founder, Enzo Ferrari.
Born in Modena, Italy, in 1898, Enzo was inspired by a race he saw in Bologna at the age of 10, and from then on, he aspired to become a racing driver. His unwavering ambition steadily moved towards realization, and in 1920, Enzo became a test driver for Alfa Romeo. In the same year, he competed as an Alfa driver in the Targa Florio, achieving an impressive second place.
However, Enzo's interest eventually shifted to managing a racing team, and in 1929, he founded Scuderia Ferrari, taking on Alfa's racing activities. Despite his success, his relationship with Alfa ended in 1939. After World War II, in 1947, he resumed racing activities with the "Ferrari 125," equipped with his own V12 engine. This marked the beginning of Ferrari as a sports car brand.
Subsequently, Ferrari became part of the Fiat group. Under President Luca Montezemolo, who also serves as chairman of the Fiat group, the brand continues to enhance its appeal. The lineup consists of five models: the V12-powered "599" and "612 Scaglietti," the V8 mid-ship sports cars "F430" and "F430 Spider," and the ultra-sporty "430 Scuderia."
