Scheduled for Introduction to Japan in Spring 2010
The Maserati GranCabrio, inheriting the tradition of Maserati open-top models that began with the A6G Frua Spyder in 1950, debuts as a successor to the Quattroporte four-door sedan and the GranTurismo two-door coupe. This completes Maserati's lineup.
Based on the GranTurismo, the GranCabrio was developed as a model that allows occupants to experience open-air driving without compromising the comfort and performance of the base model.
The car features a distinctive Pininfarina styling, a comfortable interior, and Maserati's signature driving pleasure and high performance. For instance, the interior offers ample space for four people, with the rear seats described as being prepared not for mere passengers, but for "co-stars" of the drive.
It is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine producing a maximum output of 323 kW. The roof is a traditional canvas soft-top, in keeping with Maserati's heritage.
Following its debut at the Frankfurt Show on September 15, the GranCabrio will be launched in markets starting with Europe at the end of 2009, with introduction to Japan planned for around Spring 2010.
