As a designer who began his career with car exterior design, he offers insights into the fundamental principles of automotive design.

Shunji Yamanaka
Born in Ehime Prefecture in 1957. After graduating from the Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 1982, he joined Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., where he was involved in exterior design. In 1994, he established Leading Edge Design. His diverse product designs range from watches and furniture to automobiles and Shinkansen bullet trains, created through a fusion of science and art. The "Nissan Infiniti Q45" is a famous work by Yamanaka.

Jaguar XF
Launched in Japan in the spring of 2008 as the new four-door sedan from the prestigious British brand, Jaguar. It features a sporty appearance, driving performance, and new interfaces such as a dial-type drive selector replacing the shifter. Engine options include a 3-liter V6, a 4.2-liter V8, and a 4.2-liter supercharged version. All are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and paddle shifters are located behind the steering wheel for manual-like shifting. Prices range from 6.5 million to 9.95 million yen.
