BMW M6 COUPE/M6 CABRIOLET

BMW M6 Coupe/M6 Cabriolet

BMW's Pinnacle Sports Car

The "BMW6 Series," characterized by its long hood, received the heart of the M5, boasting overwhelming performance, resulting in the "M6 Coupe/M6 Cabriolet."

Based on the four-seater luxury sports car revived in 2003, the M6, developed by BMW M, debuted with the coupe in 2005 and the convertible in 2006. The engine of note is the 5-liter V10, which had already demonstrated its overwhelming high power in the M5. With a maximum output of 507ps and peak torque of 520Nm, its capabilities are the highest in BMW's history, and its character, revving to 8000rpm, is befitting a sports model.

In addition to its potent engine, the M6 also focused on weight reduction. Aluminum was used for the engine hood and front door panels, thermoplastic resin for the front side panels, and SMC for the trunk lid. The coupe's roof is even made of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), showcasing a thorough approach.

Paired with a 7-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox), it achieves impressive acceleration figures: 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds for the M6 Coupe and 4.8 seconds for the M6 Cabriolet. Despite its swift performance, the exceptionally elegant interior befits a luxury sports car, offering a superb finish that lives up to the name of BMW's top sports model.
