A Two-Seater Berlinetta Following in the Footsteps of Legendary Cars
FerrariThe latest model to feature Ferrari's traditional 12-cylinder engine is the "599." This two-seater Berlinetta, which follows in the lineage of legendary cars like the "575M Maranello" and "365 GTB," made its world premiere at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show.
Styled by Pininfarina, its design possesses an elegance and dignity that are unmistakably Ferrari, projecting a commanding presence as a flagship model. As its name suggests, the engine is a 5999cc, 65-degree V12 mounted at the front. It delivers a maximum output of 620ps at 7600rpm, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration of 3.7 seconds and a top speed exceeding 330km/h.
To ensure stable driving at high speeds, aerodynamic components such as the underbody and rear diffuser have been optimized through wind tunnel testing, generating, for example, 160kg of downforce when traveling at 300km/h.
The transmission is the F1 SuperFast gearbox with paddle shifters. Gear changes take just 100ms, and it features an automatic mode and a launch control function for racing starts.
Furthermore, the "SCM suspension" that controls damping with magnetorheological fluid, "F1-TRAC" for maximum traction, and "Manettino" for dynamic vehicle control are among the latest technologies that should fully unleash the 599's potential.

BRAND HISTORY
Many fans are captivated by the emblem known as "Cavallino Rampante," or the "Prancing Horse" in Japan. Ferrari is a car that ignites passion with its fierce performance on the circuit and enchants onlookers with its elegant silhouette and piercing sound on the street. Whether in F1 or in its road cars, this brand, which pursues the pinnacle of speed, still carries the strong passion of its founder, Enzo Ferrari.
Born in Modena, Italy, in 1898, Enzo was inspired by a race he witnessed in Bologna at the age of ten, eventually deciding he wanted to become a racing driver. His singular ambition steadily moved toward realization, and in 1920, Enzo became a test driver for Alfa Romeo. In the same year, he competed as an Alfa driver in the Targa Florio, achieving an impressive second-place finish.
However, Enzo's interest eventually shifted to managing a racing team, leading him to establish Scuderia Ferrari in 1929 and take on Alfa's racing activities. Despite his prowess, his relationship with Alfa ended in 1939. After World War II, in 1947, he resumed racing with the "Ferrari 125," powered by his own V12 engine. This marked the beginning of Ferrari as a sports car brand.
Subsequently, Ferrari became part of the Fiat group. Under the leadership of President Luca Montezemolo, who also serves as chairman of the Fiat Group, the brand continues to enhance its allure. The lineup consists of five models: the V12-powered "599" and "612 Scaglietti," the mid-engined V8 sports cars "F430" and "F430 Spider," and the "430 Scuderia," which represents the ultimate in sportiness.
